For the successful update, read this document carefully and follow the instructions. Should your system malfunctions or is powered off due to an unplanned event (such as a blackout, a cutoff, lightning, and noise) during the update, the system may be damaged and fail to operate normally. In this case, any remedial measures shall be taken at your expense. =============================================================================== Firmware update procedure with the Software =============================================================================== Go through the following procedure to update the firmware of your onboard LAN and optional LAN board. Even if multiple target products are installed, all of them can be updated at once. This tool only supports UEFI mode. [ Preparation ] It is necessary to disable the Embedded UEFI Shell function of the server. During the server startup process, press the [F9] key to open System Utility. Then follow these steps: [F9] System Utility -> System Configuration -> BIOS / Platform Configuration (RBSU) -> Embedded UEFI Shell Change the "Embedded UEFI Shell" parameter from "Enable" to "Disable". Then press the [F12] key (Save & Exit) to restart. After the firmware update is completed, change the "Embedded UEFI Shell" setting back to "Enable". [ How to update the firmware ] 1) Insert the update CD into the disk drive of your system. Then turn on the system. 2) Boot the device from the update CD. The following screen appears: *********************************************************** [TOP MENU] 1 = Upgrade NVM to [1.2121.0/10.5.3/10.5.5](New) 2 = Shutdown 3 = Reboot ************************************************************ 3) Enter 1 and press the [Enter] key. The following confirmation message appears: ************************************************************ N O T E This tool updates NIC / LOM / Embedded LOM firmware. To cancel the process, enter the Q/q key. Please enter the other key when proceeding. ************************************************************ To cancel it press the [Q] key. To continue the process, press any other key to start the firmware update. * The update will be completed in a few minutes.
