[Software Introduction]

Agentless Management Service and iLO 5 Channel Interface Driver 
(hereinafter called "the Software") are modules required to get 
information of the Host OS via iLO 5 on the virtualized platform of 
VMware ESXi 6 or later.

Carefully read the following End User License Agreement before using 
the Software. If you do not agree to its terms, do not download the 
Software. By downloading the Software, you agree to be bound by the 
terms.
Please keep this document because you need to read it again when 
uninstalling the Software.

[End User License Agreement for the Software] 

This End User License Agreement (hereinafter called "Agreement") is 
an agreement between you and NEC Corporation (hereinafter called "NEC"). 
Under the terms of this Agreement, NEC grants you the right
to use the software program (hereinafter called "Licensed Program"), 
and you agree to the following terms. You take any 
responsibility for the selection of, installation of, use of, or 
results from the use of, the Licensed Program.

1. Term and Termination

(1) This Agreement is effective from the date you receive the Software
    product.
(2) You may terminate the right to use the Licensed Program granted
    under this Agreement at any time by giving NEC a written notice 
    no less than one month prior to the date you wish to do so.
(3) NEC may terminate your right to use the Licensed Program at any
    time, if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this Agreement.
(4) Your right to use the Licensed Program continues to exist until
    it is terminated in accordance with the provisions of this 
    Agreement.
(5) Upon termination of your right to use the Licensed Program, all of 
    your other rights under this Agreement are also
    terminated. Then immediately you must dispose of the Licensed Program, 
    all copies thereof, and any related documents such as manuals provided 
    with the Licensed Program. 

2. Right of Use 
(1) You may use the Licensed Program only on NEC Express5800 series
    servers in which the following VMware ESXi is installed:
    - VMware ESXi 7.0 Update 3
    - VMware ESXi 8.0

3. Copying, Modifying, or Merging the Licensed Program 
(1) You may make a single copy of the Licensed Program only for your
    backup purpose in case of data loss or corruption of the Licensed 
    Program. However, this does not apply to the case where the Licensed 
    Program is installed in a fixed memory. In such a case, you may keep 
    the storage medium of the Licensed Program only for your backup purpose 
    in case of data loss or corruption of the Licensed Program.
(2) You must display the copyright and other proprietary rights
    notices for the Licensed Program on all the copies
    of the Licensed Program. 
(3) Unless otherwise specified in this Agreement, you may not use, copy, 
    modify, or merge the Licensed Program, publish or distribute any 
    information or materials contained in the Licensed Program in 
    publications or through networks, or perform any other acts on the 
    Licensed Program.
(4) You may not copy the related documents such as manuals provided
    with the Licensed Program or publish them in publications or
    through networks under any circumstances. 
(5) This Agreement does not transfer the intangible property rights 
    associated with the Licensed Program to you. 

4. Transfer to a Third Party
(1) You may assign all of your rights under this Agreement to a 
    third party, provided that all of the following conditions are 
    satisfied: 
(a) You assign this Agreement, the Licensed Program, all copies of 
    the Licensed Program, and all related documents such as manuals 
    provided with the Licensed Program, to the third party, and retain 
    none of them. 
(b) The assignee agrees to the terms of this Agreement.
(2) Unless otherwise specified in this Agreement, you may not sublicense, 
    assign, or transfer the Licensed Program or its use right to a third party , 
    or perform any other acts on the Licensed Program for the third party.

5. Decompilation 
 You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Licensed Program.

6. Warranty
(1) NEC does not provide any guarantee for the Licensed Program. You
    are liable to take any responsibility for the problems occurring 
    from the use of the Licensed Program and pay for any costs arising 
    from them. 
(2) Irrespective of the above section (1), when NEC corrects the errors 
    (bugs) of the Licensed Program, NEC may, at its discretion, provide 
    an error-corrected program, a program for correction (hereinafter 
    called "modification program"), or information for correction by an 
    NEC-decided method.
    The modification program provided to you is regarded as the Licensed
    Program. 

7. Limitation of liability 
 NEC assumes no liability for any of your lost profit, damages arising from
 special circumstances (including damages which NEC can or could foresee),
 or damages claimed to you by a third party.

8. Others 
 Disputes over this Agreement are settled at the Tokyo District  Court as the 
 agreed exclusive court of jurisdiction.

[Setup Procedure]

1. Preparation

   (1) Check the version of iLO 5 Firmware in either of the following ways:
      - In the "Server Health Summary" screen
        Press the UID button on the server. On the console connected to the 
        server, check the version of iLO 5 Firmware.
        (For more information on the "Server Health Summary" screen, see 
        "iLO 5 User's Guide".)
      - In a remote environment
        From a web browser in a remote environment, log in to the iLO web 
        interface. Go to "Firmware & OS Software" -> "Installed Firmware". 
        Then check the version of iLO 5 Firmware.

      If the version is 2.55 or higher, proceed to "2. Update".
      If the version is lower than 2.55, first go to the step just below.

   (2) Update iLO 5 Firmware by using the latest Starter Pack, 
       which can be obtained by purchase or from the following URL:
       https://www.nec.com/express
       -> "Related Links"
         -> "Download"
           -> "Documents & Software"
             -> "Tower" or "Rack" (Then select your server model.)

2. Update

  (1) From the direct console of ESXi, select "Troubleshooting Options".
      Enable access to ESXi Shell via SSH or the direct console.
      Then log in to ESXi Shell as a user with administrator rights.
      (To log in to ESXi Shell from the direct console, press Alt+F1.)

  (2) Execute the following command to check whether a previous 
      version of the Software is installed:
        # esxcli software component get -n amsdComponent
        # esxcli software component get -n ilo-driver

      If nothing appears, meaning no previous version of the Software 
      is installed, go to "3. Installation".
      If a line starting with "amsd" or "ilo" appears, meaning a previous 
      version of the Software is installed, proceed to the step just below.

  (3) Uninstall the previous version by following the steps of "4. Uninstallation" below.

  (4) Install the new version by following the steps of "3. Installation" below.

3. Installation

  (1) Copy the zip files (amsdComponent_701.11.8.5.22-1_20314731.zip and 
      ilo-driver_700.10.8.0.6-1OEM.700.1.0.15843807_20300719.zip) to a client terminal 
      from which the VMware Host Client is to be started.

  (2) Start the VMware Host Client. Connect to ESXi as a user with administrator rights. 
      Switch ESXi to Maintenance Mode by right-clicking "Host" in "Navigator" and then 
      clicking "Enter Maintenance Mode".

  (3) Select the ESXi icon in the inventory and click the "Configuration"
      tab.

  (4) Click "Storage" in "Navigator" to display the list of datastores.
      Right-click a datastore to which you want to upload the zip files. 
      Then click "Browse".

  (5) The datastore browser appears.
      Click "Create directory" and create a directory named "zip".

  (6) Click the "zip" directory. Then click "Upload".

  (7) From the displayed upload screen, select a zip file and
      click "Open", then select the other zip file and click "Open".

  (8) If a warning dialog box for uploading/downloading appears, click "Yes".

  (9) When the zip files are displayed on the datastore browser,
      the upload is completed.

 (10) From the direct console, select "Troubleshooting Options".
      Enable access to ESXi Shell via SSH or the direct console.
      Then log in to ESXi Shell as a user with administrator rights.
      (To log in to ESXi Shell from the direct console, press Alt+F1.)

 (11) Execute the following command to install the Agentless Management 
      Service and iLO 5 Channel Interface Driver:
         # esxcli software component apply -d [Path]amsdComponent_701.11.8.5.22-1_20314731.zip
         # esxcli software component apply -d [Path]ilo-driver_700.10.8.0.6-1OEM.700.1.0.15843807_20300719.zip
      In [Path] above, specify an absolute path to which the zip files are stored. Example:
         /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/zip/

      The zip file need not be unzipped.
      After the installation is completed, the following message appears:
        Installation Result
           Components Installed: [Package Name]
           Components Removed:
           Components Skipped:
           Message: The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be rebooted for the changes to be effective.
           Reboot Required: true

 (12) Execute the reboot command to restart the server.

 (13) Log in to ESXi Shell. Then execute the following command to check that
      the Components of amsdComponent and ilo-driver have been successfully installed:
        # esxcli software component get -n amsdComponent
        # esxcli software component get -n ilo-driver

 (14) Delete the uploaded zip files. Then log out from ESXi Shell.
      (If you logged in to ESXi Shell from the direct console, execute
      the exit command and then press Alt+F2.)

 (15) From the direct console, select "Troubleshooting Options".
      Then change the ESXi Shell access settings to their original values.
      In addition, connect to ESXi from the VMware Host Client and exit 
      Maintenance Mode.

4. Uninstallation

  (1) Start the VMware Host Client. Connect to ESXi as a user with administrator rights. 
      Switch ESXi to Maintenance Mode by right-clicking "Host" in "Navigator" and then 
      clicking "Enter Maintenance Mode".

  (2) From the direct console, select "Troubleshooting Options".
      Enable access to ESXi Shell via SSH or the direct console.
      Then log in to ESXi Shell as a user with administrator rights.
      (To log in to ESXi Shell from the direct console, press Alt+F1.)

  (3) Execute the following command to uninstall the Agentless Management 
      Service and iLO 5 Channel Interface Driver:
        # esxcli software component remove -n amsdComponent
        # esxcli software component remove -n ilo-driver

  (4) Execute the reboot command to restart the server.

  (5) From the direct console, select "Troubleshooting Options".
      Then change the ESXi Shell access settings to their original values.
      In addition, connect to ESXi from the VMware Host Client and exit 
      Maintenance Mode.
