---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[General Notice]
1. Reboot VMware ESX after creating the Logical Drive.
   After Rebooting VMware ESX, the created Logical Drive becomes available.

2. The Logical Drive including a partition can be initialized or deleted
   in VMware ESX.
   All data will be lost on Logical Drive if the partitions exist on it.
   Make sure there is no important data before initializing or deleting
   Logical Drive.

3. Universal RAID Utility does not notify of events when VMware ESX is
   started.
   Confirm if the event notification works correctly when you start VMware
   ESX.
   (When you use N8103-134/135 RAID Controller, you do not have to do the
    following confirmation.)

   (a) Start the computer.

   (b) The service console of VMware ESX is shown.
       Wait about 5 minutes.

   (c) Login VMware ESX.

   (d) Confirm buzzer setting using raidcmd, and note the setting.
       Run the following procedures to RAID Controller #1 when you use
       multiple RAID Controllers.

      # raidcmd property -tg=rc -c=1
      RAID Controller #1

      ID                         : 0
      Vendor                     : LSI Corporation
      Model                      : MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2 (256MB)
      ...
      Buzzer Setting             : Enable
                                   ~~~~~~
   (e) Change the buzzer setting using raidcmd.
       Change [Enable] to [Disable] when the current buzzer setting is [Enable].
       Change to [Enable] when it is [Disable].
       # raidcmd optctrl -c=1 -be=disable
                                  ~~~~~~~
                                  buzzer setting(Set to enable or disable)

       * The buzzer setting can not change in the Standard mode of raidcmd.
         Change the running mode of raidcmd to Advanced mode.

   (f) Confirm the last line of RAID log.
       # tail /var/log/raidsrv/raid.log

   (g) Confirm following event is registered.

       In case of setting to [Enable]:
         <RU0201> [CTRL:1(ID=0)] The buzzer of RAID Controller is enable.

       In case of setting to [Disable]:
         <RU0202> [CTRL:1(ID=0)] The buzzer of RAID Controller is disable.

       If the above event is not found, the event notification does not
       work correctly.
       In this case, go back to the step (b) and run again.
       Otherwise the event notification works correctly.
       Go to step (h).

   (h) Set the buzzer setting to the previous setting.

4. Use of Update Installation or Add Installation
   Universal RAID Utility Ver2.3 or later does not support Update Installation
   and Add Installation.
   If you need this software update, you must uninstall the previous
   version at first.

5. The TCP ports Universal RAID Utility uses have been changed in Ver2.33 and
   the later versions as follows.
       data port - 52805(Ver2.32 and earlier) - 5016(Ver2.33 and later)
       event port - 52806(Ver2.32 and earlier) - 5017(Ver2.33 and later)

   The change has no effect on operations of Universal RAID Utility.
   In the following cases, however, you must change the settings of Universal
   RAID Utility depending on your environment settings. Be sure to check the
   description in [TCP ports used by Universal RAID Utility] in the Universal
   RAID Utility User's Guide.
   (1) You customized the TCP ports Universal RAID Utility uses and you would
        like to continue using them, and/or
   (2) You are going to update Universal RAID Utility from Ver2.32 or earlier
        versions to Ver2.33 or later versions using ExpressUpdate.

   Also you must change the settings of other applications in the following
   cases. Be sure to check the description in [TCP ports used by Universal
   RAID Utility] in the Universal RAID Utility User's Guide.
   (1) You have specified the TCP port numbers Universal RAID Utility uses
        for the firewall settings, and/or
   (2) Other applications in you environment have been using the TCP ports,
        5016 and 5017.

[Revision History]
  2014/12/25  Ver2.36 Rev 2861
  "Enhancement"
     1. Enhanced feature to detect a Medium Error on the Physical Devices.
        Universal RAID Utility registers "A Medium Error was Frequently
        Detected" or "A Medium Error was Intermittently Detected" event
        message when the Medium Error was detected frequently or
        intermittently on the same Physical Device.
     2. A new feature is added to stop Patrol Read and Consistency Check
        automatically.
        When Patrol Read or Consistency Check is running and it detects
        a Medium Error on the Physical Device frequently, the Patrol Read or
        the Consistency Check is automatically stopped to suppress
        deterioration of access performance to the Physical Device.
     3. A new option is added to enable/disable the Automatic Stop for
        Consistency Check.
        Basically the Consistency Check is automatically stopped when it
        detects a Medium Error on the same Physical Device frequently during
        the run. Therefore you cannot check the whole data to be consistent
        in this case. However you can execute the Consistency Check through
        entire Logical Drive by the "Automatic Stop Disabled" function even
        if a Medium Error is detected frequently.
     4. A new feature is added to detect unexpected change of RAID configuration.
        Universal RAID Utility registers a "RAID System unstable" event
        message when there is a Physical Device which is excluded from the RAID
        configuration even though it is not failure.
