================================================================================ Release Notes for NEC Express5800/GT110e NEC Express5800/GT110e-S NEC Express5800/R110e-1E BMC Firmware 00.06 (Offline) ================================================================================ Software name : NEC Express5800/GT110e, NEC Express5800/GT110e-S, NEC Express5800/R110e-1E BMC firmware update module for Offline Models : See below Software revisions: See below Type of software : BMC firmware -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ About the software ] The NEC Express5800/GT110e, NEC Express5800/GT110e-S, NEC Express5800/R110e-1E BMC firmware update module ("the software") supports the following functional enhancement in the NEC Express5800/GT110e, NEC Express5800/GT110e-S, NEC Express5800/R110e-1E models: - Support for Windows Server 2012.(support for DCMI) - Improved web server functions of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3. - Support Java7 for EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3. - Changed to reboot management LAN port if management LAN port does not receive any packet for a certain period of time. - Support the RETINA Security Scan. - Changed the limit of input character to 64 characters when creating the CSR in SSL configuration. - Fixed the issue to be not able to use "." character in the host name when creating a CSR in SSL configuration. - Changed the sel behavior. Clear all sel entry immediately if the sel configuration is changed from "Stop logging SEL" to "Clear all SEL" when the sel repository is full. - Fixed the issue that a negative value does not displayed correctly in the "Component"-"temperature" of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3. - Improved the issue that active directry user who belongs multiple group may be aborted to log in EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3. - Improved the character-based remote console via command line interface of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 to be enabled to accept mass input for example to copy and paste long text. - Improved the issue that the network functinon of EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 become unavailable by receiving Jumbo Frame Packet from Management LAN port. - Improved the internal user configuration for EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3 to be disabled to change. - Fixed the issue that BMC owner's events are not logged rarely after BMC clear configuration by the BMC configuration Utility. - Fixed the issue that the cursor of a Linux text mode is not displayed on the remote KVM console. Note: - To prevent a system failure, please read this document carefully and follow the procedure for successful update. Should your system malfunctions or is powered off due to an unplanned event during update (for example, power blackout or cutoff, lightening, and noise), the system may be damaged and fails to operate normally. In this case, any remedial measures shall be taken at your expense. [ Models and software revisions for update ] Users who use the following server models and BMC firmware revisions need update: - Models to update: 1. NEC Express5800/GT110e : N8100-1890F, N8100-1890S1F 2. NEC Express5800/GT110e-S : N8100-1891F, N8100-1892F, N8100-1891CF, N8100-1892CF, N8100-1893F, N8100-1894F 3. NEC Express5800/R110e-1E : N8100-1932F, N8100-1933F - BMC firmware revision to update: BMC Firmware Revision: 00.03 NOTE: If your BMC firmware revision are later than the above, you do not require the update(the latest revisions already include the functions to be added by the software). - How to confirm your BMC Firmware revision: * By ESRAS Utility, to confirm your BMC Firmware version: (1) Run the rasutl program. (2) Select the [Intelligent Platform Management Interface] sub menu and press the Enter key. (3) Select the [Management controler information] sub menu and press the Enter key. (4) Select the [Basbrd Mgmt Ctlr] sub menu and press the Enter key. (5) The BMC firmware versions of your system will be displayed. * By BIOS Setup, to confirm your BMC Firmware version: (1) Power on the system. (2) When the following message appears, press the F2 key to start the BIOS Setup Menu. "Press <F2> to enter SETUP" (3) Using the arrow keys, move the cursor to [Server]. (4) Select the [System Management] sub menu and press the Enter key. (5) The software versions of your system will be displayed. (6) After confirmation of the software versions, press the ESC key and exit the [System Management] sub menu. (7) Move the cursor to [Exit], using the arrow keys. (8) Select [Exit Discarding Changes], and exit the BIOS Setup Menu. * By ESMPRO Manager Ver.5, to confirm your BMC Firmware version: (1) Run ESMPRO Manager Ver.5. (2) After selecting the server, select the [IPMI Information] sub menu and press the Enter key. (3) Select the [MC(Management Controller) Infomation] sub menu and press the Enter key. (4) Select the [Basbrd Mgmt Ctlr] sub menu and press the Enter key. (5) The BMC firmware version of your system will be displayed. * By EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3, to confirm your BMC version: (1) Run EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3. (2) Select the [System] sub menu and press the Enter key. (3) Select the [Summary] sub menu and press the Enter key. (4) The software versions of your system will be displayed. [User License Agreement] NEC Corporation ("NEC") grants you the right to use the software program ("Software") under the terms and conditions of this Agreement only in the country in which you acquired the Software. You shall agree to all provisions of this Agreement and assume responsibility for selection, installation, use and effect of the Software purchased for your desired effect. The Software uses the software ("GPL Module") granted by GNU General Public License("GPL") or GNU Lesser General Public License("LGPL"). This Agreement does not cover GPL Module. The module is supposed to be useful, however, NEC does not guarantee it. Copyright 2.1 The Software shall solely be used in the NEC Express5800 servers. 2.2 NEC grants you the right to use the Software only in the country in which you acquired the Software in accordance with the conditions of the preceding paragraph. 3. Copying, altering, and combining of the Software 3.1 You may only make one copy of the Software solely for a backup purpose, provided, however, that the copy of the Software is loaded into permanent memory of the system. You may store the Software solely to prevent damages or loss of the memory media. 3.2 You shall place the copyright notice and other legends on each copy of the Software. 3.3 You may not use, copy, alter, combine, publish, reproduce the Software over the Internet, or otherwise dispose of the Software except as provided in this Agreement. 3.4 You may not copy, publish the manual or other related documentation provided with the Software, or reproduce such manual and documentation over the Internet. 3.5 No intangible property right to the Software shall be transferred to you. 4. Transfer 4.1 You may assign your rights granted hereunder to a third party only if all conditions below are satisfied: a. You shall assign and shall not retain this Agreement, the Software, allcopies of the Software, or the manual or other related documentationprovided with the Software. b. The transferee agrees to this Agreement. 4.2 You shall not sublicense, assign, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the Software or the right of use to any third party except as provided herein. 5. Reverse compile You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise disassemble the Software. 6. Limitation of warranties 6.1 The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. In no event shall NEC be liable with respect to any claim by you on account of or arising out of the use of the Software. 6.2 Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in case NEC makes any bug-fix version to the Software, NEC will, at its expense, furnish you with such bug-fix version, update version, or information in relation to such bug-fix or update version both in the source code form and object code form, and such bug-fix version or update version shall be considered as the licensed Software. 7. No liability In no event shall NEC be liable for any indirect or consequential damages or loss of profit or damages based on any third party claim, even if NEC has been advised of the possibility of such damages. 8. Others You must agree that any disputes concerning this Agreement will be settled at the Tokyo district court as the exclusively appointed court. [ Installation procedures ] Extract the software and update the BMC firmware following the procedures below. [Extraction Procedure] 1. Download the module into any directory of hard disk. 2. Extract the module into any directory. 3. The software and its procedure manual(READMEE.txt) will be extracted into the folder. You can refer to the procedure manual(READMEE.txt) by Notepad of Windows(R) OS.
