- "An exception happened in the RAID Viewer" error may occur on Universal RAID Utility when failing
to get RAID system information because of some causes such as delayed reply due to temporary high-load.
In such a case, please close RAID Viewer once and reopen it.
After that, check if the RAID Viewer displays RAID System information correctly or not.
If RAID Viewer cannot open, or RAID System Information is not displayed, please restart "Universal RAID
Utility" service.
- When offline, help information for some features may not be displayed, with the pop-up saying “a new

- On Windows Server 2016, significant deterioration of backup performance may occur if performing a backup to
an LTO, RDX or HDD when Windows Defender is running.
Windows Defender is running by default on Windows Server 2016. If backup performance is important, consider
taking a measure such as disabling Windows Defender or using anti-virus software.
- Notes for Installation
If you installed Windows Server 2016 using an English version of the
install media provided by NEC, you may fail to add or remove Windows features
after rebooting the machine due to the behavior of the LPRemove task(*).
(*)Please refer to the web site of LPRemove task.

- Notes for using Windows Server 2016 Server Core
- If you use NEC ESMPRO ServerAgentService on Windows Server 2016 Server Core, read the precautions written
in "NEC ESMPRO ServerAgentService Ver. 1.3 Installation Guide (Windows)".
- NEC ESMPRO Manager cannot be used on Windows Server 2016 Server Core.
- Notes for using BitLocker
- Without the recovery password, the operating system does not start and partitions encrypted with BitLocker
can never be accessed again. Be sure to keep the recovery password in a safe place outside the server where
BitLocker is used. For more details, refer to "Windows Server 2016 Installation Guide" included in
the Support Kits for the applicable model.
- If you reinstall the operation system to a partition encrypted with BitLocker, delete the encrypted
partition once before the reinstallation.
Restrictions
- The screen resolution is automatically selected according to the monitor connected and cannot be changed
manually.
- NEC published graphic accelerator drivers to avoid this restriction.
For the details regarding each target server, refer to the web pages below.
- During using Hyper-V, an event "Source: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-Hypervisor, Event ID: 154" may be
registered to the event log. The registration of this event does not affect operation of OS.
- If you use RDX drive with a machine running Hyper-V, "Event ID:11" may be registered when booting
the device in rare cases.
When the ID is registered, the drive letter assigned to the RDX drive may be have been changed.
Check if the drive letter has been changed when you boot the RDX drive.
