EXPRESSSCOPE Engine(*) upgrades its server management capabilities by adding a Remote Media function for the NEC Express5800/120Li, 120Rg-1, and 120Ri-2. This additional function enables a host system recognize a floppy, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM drive in a remote management PC as its virtual media. To use the Remote Media function, please upgrade your BMC firmware by downloading an update module.
* EXPRESSSCOPE Engine, a system management LSI (Large-Scale Integration) integrated onto a motherboard, offers a wide range of server management capabilities?accessing the LSI from a remote management PC via a network to monitor the states of power units and cooling fans in a host system (the Remote Control function), and remotely operating the host systems keyboard, display, and mouse (the Remote KVM function). The latest Remote Media function has been added to further enhance these server management capabilities.
To use the Remote KVM and Remote Media functions, please purchase a Remote KVM and Media License [N8115-03] separately.
Your BMC firmware revision must be 00.45 or later to enable the Remote Media function. The following systems may have an earlier revision of 00.38, 00.40, or 00.44. Please update it to 00.45 by installing the update module provided in the next section. For further details, please see a consent agreement that will be displayed when you download the update module.
